CHIKA RUSSELL (GCEO)
Chika embodies the spirit and drives the vision behind our organisation with a deep-rooted love for children, a flair for traditional recipes, and an unwavering passion for Nigeria. Born and raised in the UK, Chika spent every holiday in Nigeria, exposed to our rich cultural heritage and vibrant flavours, growing and maintaining deep roots in our values and taste. She vividly remembers the aroma of spices filling her grandmother's kitchen and the joyous gatherings around a shared meal. These cherished memories inspired her to preserve and promote our flavours to ensure that future generations could savour the authentic tastes of their heritage. Motivated by her passion for traditional recipes, Chika embarked on a remarkable journey to create a platform that seamlessly combined these two purposes. Her vision was to build an organisation that provides tasty, natural and nutritional affordable snacks made with our diverse and delicious flavours. Chika's dedication and hard work led to the establishment of Chika’s Yummy, an innovative venture that combines philanthropy with culinary delight to impact lives. Chika is a staunch advocate for the girl child and in 2019 launched the Snacks4Change, as an initiative that supports girls through education, enabling them to get the best start in life. She recognises the potential and power of every girl and strongly believes that investing in their education and well-being transforms their life, strengthens the entire community, and drives social progress.
